ASE Committee Vice Chair Nomination

The ASE is currently soliciting self-nominations for Vice Chair of Standing Committees and Task Forces from eligible ASE Physician/Non-Physician Members members in good standing. Please note: Trainee Members are not eligible to serve as Vice Chairs of Standing Committees/Task Forces (except for the Trainee Committee) but may apply after training. The available Trainee Committee Vice Chair and Representative nominations will be available soon via a separate form.

Vice Chairs of Standing Committees and Task Forces are nominated from the active members and should be productive members of the committee. Active members are classified as those who have been committee members on the committee for which they are applying for one year or more and have significantly contributed to committee activities. They should endorse the mission and values of the ASE and have the time and desire to participate in committee leadership activities and the Board of Directors (as a non-voting attendee), which includes at minimum two in-person/virtual Committee and Board meetings per year.

Once the nomination process has concluded, the current Chairs will confer with their ASE Executive Committee liaison regarding Vice Chair nominees and their recommendations. The recommendations are then put forth for approval by the ASE Executive Committee. Once the Executive Committee has approved the nominees, an anonymous vote by the active members of the committee, conducted by the ASE staff, will be held in March/April 2026. The nominee with the majority of votes shall be appointed as the new Vice Chair in May, with the term to begin immediately following the ASE 2026 Annual Meeting.

The Committee Chair and Vice Chair will attend the next ASE Board of Directors meeting (generally the fall meeting). Note: Task Force Chairs/Vice Chairs are invited to Board meetings at the discretion of the President/Executive Committee. The contribution and engagement of the Vice Chair will be reviewed annually by the Chair and the ASE Executive Committee liaison for continuation in the role. The Vice Chair will become Chair at the conclusion of a 2-year term in 2028 and will at that time become Chair for 2 years. Committee Chairs will be a voting member of the Board of Directors, for a total of 4 years of service.

**Please note: All nominee forms will be circulated to the leadership and Committee/Task Force members during the review and voting process.

Submit the form below by Friday, February 13, 2026.
