Fellow of the ASE

Description

The Fellow of the ASE is designed to recognize outstanding leaders in surgical education who have made significant, nationally recognized contributions to the field. This prestigious recognition is awarded annually to a select group of members who exemplify leadership and dedicated service to both ASE and the broader surgical education profession.

Criteria & Eligibility:

  1. ASE Membership, Service, and Leadership: Candidates must have demonstrated at least 5 years of active service/leadership and involvement in ASE committees and/or programs in support of ASE’s mission and vision.
  2. Recognition for Teaching and Professional Development: The candidate must have at least 10 years in a surgical education faculty or administrator role.
  3. Research, Innovation and Scholarship: Candidates must have engaged in surgical education research, innovation, and scholarship that has significant contribution to advancement of professional and scientific knowledge in surgical education, as evidenced in part by peer reviewed publications.
  4. Ethical and Moral Conduct: Candidates must be in professional good standing and free of any convictions, felonies, misdemeanors or revoked licensure.
  5. Nomination by at least 1 ASE Fellow through a letter of recommendation. List of ASE Fellows

Details:

Closing Date: March 15, 2026

A one-time application fee of $100 for MD/DO candidates and $50 for non-physician candidates.
