Visiting Scholar Fellowship Application

The ASE Visiting Scholar Fellowship, which is sponsored by the ASE Simulation Committee, offers ASE members in good standing the opportunity to visit other surgical programs in the United States.  This  fellowship consists of a travel grant up to $3500. Fellowship recipients will work to foster communication, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration amongst ASE members  in different institutions. The ultimate goal of the collaboration will be to advance surgical education initiatives, identify opportunities for joint ventures, and share new ideas and concepts across the ASE membership. The winner will be formally announced at the ASE Annual Meeting Awards Ceremony.

The application process is currently closed for this fellowship. 

Visiting Scholar Fellowship Application

  • The letter should address the following: a) Why the hosting site(s) was chosen. The host should be an ASE member. b) Goals of the visiting scholar fellowship c) How the work from the fellowship will contribute to the goals of the ASE d) How the work from the fellowship will contribute to the goals of the ASE Simulation Committee e) Why the applicant is uniquely suited to receive the fellowship
