Committee Chair Self-Nomination Form

Thank you for your interest in serving as a Chair of an ASE Committee. Eligible members include Physician/Non-Physician Members who are ASE members in good standing (please note: Trainee Members are not eligible to serve as Chairs but may apply for the Medical Student or Resident/Fellow Representative positions to the ASE Board of Directors). Chairs should be nominated from the active (>1 year member), productive members of the committee using the below nomination form and should endorse the mission and values of the ASE.  Chairs should also have the time and desire to participate in committee leadership activities as well as the Board of Directors (as a non-voting attendee).  Once the nomination process has concluded, the current Chair and Vice Chair will confer with their ASE Executive Committee liaison regarding Chair nominees and their recommendations.  The recommendations are then put forth for approval by the ASE Executive Committee. Once the Executive Committee has approved the nominees, an anonymous vote by the active members of the committee, conducted by the ASE staff, should be held.  The nominee with the majority of votes shall be appointed as the new Chair. The contribution and engagement of the Chair should be reviewed annually by the ASE Executive Committee liaison for continuation in the role.

Please note: The nominee form will be circulated to the leadership and Committee during the review and voting process.

  • Please note: Trainee Members are not eligible to serve as Chairs but may apply for the Medical Student or Resident/Fellow Representative positions to the ASE Board of Directors
