Thank you for your interest in serving as a Vice Chair of an ASE Committee/Task Force. Eligible members include Physician/Non-Physician Members who are ASE members in good standing (please note: Trainee Members are not eligible to serve as Vice Chairs but may apply after training). Vice Chairs should be nominated from the active (>1 year member), productive members of the committee using the below nomination form and should endorse the mission and values of the ASE. Vice Chairs should also have the time and desire to participate in committee leadership activities as well as the Board of Directors (as a non-voting attendee for Committee Vice Chairs, Task Force Vice Chairs will participate at the invitation of the President/Executive Committee). Once the nomination process has concluded, the current Chair and Vice Chair will confer with their ASE Executive Committee liaison regarding Vice Chair nominees and their recommendations. The recommendations are then put forth for approval by the ASE Executive Committee. Once the Executive Committee has approved the nominees, an anonymous vote by the active members of the committee/task force, conducted by the ASE staff, should be held. The nominee with the majority of votes shall be appointed as the new Vice Chair. The contribution and engagement of the Vice-Chair should be reviewed annually by the Chair and the ASE Executive Committee liaison for continuation in the role.
Please note: The information provided in the nominee form will be circulated to the leadership and Committee/Task Force members during the review and voting process.
